Why do parents have low expectations for their children?

Why do parents have low expectations for their children? A newborn's brain is about 25 percent of its approximate adult weight. But by age 3, it has grown dramatically by producing billions of cells and hundreds of trillions of connections, or synapses, between these cells. The brain is like a muscle, use it or lose it! Read, count, take nature walks, teach them sign language, help your child exercise their brain with good things.
